Do I sense a hint of sarcasm?
By el Rey Cianuro on Jan 25, 2009
I’m not gonna lie, you do. Your sarcasm detector is working great.

Funny ’cause it’s true.
By Markus on Sep 20, 2009
Yeah, go ahead and give it a silly name. It’s still the more interesting sport of the two.
By Adde on Sep 20, 2009
Adde: real football… (soccer if u may) is the largest sport on this planet…
it says it all, eggball… not very large
By hmrfp on Sep 20, 2009
So right, so right. I can“t understand why the americans just can realize that soccer is the biggest and greatest sport on the planet.
By Magnus on Sep 20, 2009
Hmm, ok, where do you get the facts about football(soccer) is the largest sport on the planet? I was under the impression that Volleyball or basketball is bigger, I could be wrong… football(handegg) on the other hand is a strange sport. to many rules and ill-named. only Americans and “wanna be americans” like it.
By Torbo on Sep 21, 2009
american handegg sux - bigtime deluxe!
By uglykidjoe on Sep 21, 2009
Spot on, I can’t understand why the americans call it football

My sport is better then your sport… lame.
And why is bigger = better?
It’s just people trying to put a ball in a net/over a line… it’s not like they are saving dying childern, but still we regard them as heroes, strange.

Superbowl (the final in handegg series in the us) is the single most watched game in the world, wonder why.
By Dennis on Sep 21, 2009
Dennis, Internet is maybe the most trusted source of inormation but….
Handegg: 141 Million (Superbowl final) (http://askville.amazon.com/people-watch-2009-superbowl/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=36413847)
Football: 715 Million (Fifa World Championship final)

Dennis
The most watched tv show in the US would be more correct, and the rest of the world just dont care about superbowl.
By Carl on Sep 21, 2009
Dennis… this may shock you.. there is a world outside of the states. USA isn’t the “world”, it’s a very young country founded by european immigrants who couldn’t survive in europe due to famine….
By Danne on Sep 21, 2009
Very funny. Hand egg in a supper bowl. xD
By Love it on Sep 21, 2009
The origin of the name “football” is actually to discern what was originally a peasants game from ones played by nobility (who were on horseback). I.e. it has nothing to do with using one’s feet to interact with the ball, but just that it’s played “on foot”.
U.S. football thus has a fitting name (if it wasn’t for the fact that the name was already taken!) Americans have tried the same thing with “handball”, btw
By Tiny on Sep 21, 2009
Its, called rugby!

Hint: people who like American football don’t care about semantics and realize that the sports are VERY different.
Football (American Football) fans don’t care that the rest of the world calls it Soccer (Football) because they understand that Football (Soccer) and Football (American Football) are not the same.
Yes, Americans have their own game that has the same name as Soccer (Football). Get over it. If the name of the sport was Beltenbrox, we would not have this unnecessary problem and issue of semantics.
By le truth on Sep 25, 2009
Re Le truth; I love association Football and do hate Fake Football’s name and everything about it.
